This bilingual anthology of Ukrainian poetry, which appeared thanks to the cooperation of the Embajada de Ucrania en el Reino de España with the compatriot and philanthropist Serhiy Chaika, is a kind of album, because its pages are illustrated with a series of masterpieces of Ukrainian painting of the XIX - early XX centuries, images of which were provided to the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
According to Olena Kazakova, Head of the organization "Sensorica":
"It turned out a really charming edition, warm to the touch - like Ukraine, harmonious in colors - like our native land, and singing - like our language".
The beautiful presentation took place in the Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid, accompanied by the performance of the soloist of the Odesa Opera - Anastasia Golub, reading of poems included in the collection, works of classical music performed by violinist Maria Kostenko.
The translators - Spanish poet and diplomat, Ambassador of Spain Luis Gomez de Aranda and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Olena Kurchenko - created the first bilingual anthology of lyric poetry of our country, combining classic poems of realism and romanticism of the 19th and 20th centuries with the works of contemporary poets who are read in the 21st century.
And next week, during the charity concert of the famous Ukrainian singer Nastia Kamenskykh in Alicante and Marbella, this book will be raffled off among the audience, and the funds raised will go to support the treatment of children from Kharkiv who need special medicines and special care.
So, we thank you once again for such beauty and for the opportunity to present the publication at charity events to protect the independence of Ukraine and little Ukrainians.
